The Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova is a public authority subordinated to the Ministry of Finance that contributes to the development of the Republic of Moldova by ensuring the economic and tax security of the state, facilitating legitimate trade and providing quality public services to businesses and individuals. To this end, the Customs Service ensures the administration of customs revenues, performs control and supervision based on risk assessment and applies modern customs clearance techniques in a professional, transparent and responsible manner.
The Customs Service is a specialized public authority carrying out the effective management of the customs activity in the Republic of Moldova though:
- implementing the customs policy,
- ensuring observance of with customs regulations when transiting goods, means of transport and people across the customs border of the Republic of Moldova;
- collecting import duties and export duties,
- performing customs clearance, customs control and supervision.
