Strengthening risk analysis capacities with the support of the European Union

Representatives of the Customs Service participated at the kick-off meeting of the CONNECTOR "Extended Common Interoperable Environment for the Exchange of Customs Information" project, funded through the European Union's HORIZONT EUROPE Grants Program, which took place in Athens, Greece.

The scope of the project is addressing the need of close cooperation between Customs, Border and Coast Guard Authorities within the current and upcoming challenging and demanding environment of borders’ control by further involving Customs to the Common Information Sharing Environment (CISE) network and Enhanced Common Information Sharing Environment (e-CISE) through the proposed Customs Extended Common Information Sharing Environment (CE-CISE).

Thus, the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova, the General Inspectorate of the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova and 14 other institutions and organizations from European Union member countries are to implement this project, which will contribute to improving the European Integrated Border Management (EIBM) and the Customs Union Action Plan.

The HORIZON EUROPE grant program is the EU's main funding program for research and innovation with a budget of approximately 95.5 billion EUR. It tackles climate change, contributes to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and boosts EU competitiveness and growth. The programme facilitates collaboration and strengthens the impact of research and innovation in the development, support and implementation of EU policies, while addressing global challenges.
